2023 APPLICATION CRITERIA

If your organization is making sustainability and environmental progress a core part of its operations with the goal of making a lasting impact on the health of the planet, we encourage you to apply for the SEAL Award.

 

 

The criteria for our 2023 SEAL Business Sustainability Award are outlined in this PDF

Categories

The SEAL Awards honor leadership in sustainability for both overall, company-wide organizational impact and specific focused initiatives that help spur innovation in environmental progress.
  • The SEAL Sustainable Product Award

  • The SEAL Sustainable Product Award honors innovative and impactful products that are literally “purpose-built” for a sustainable future

     

    Award applicants are judged on the following criteria: Impact metrics, innovation/uniqueness of the product, and its ability to inspire sustainable change.

     

    Any physical product is eligible for submission.

  • The SEAL Award for Environmental Initiatives

  • Progress happens incrementally. The SEAL Awards recognize and honor individual programs and initiatives that move the needle on environmental progress, and demonstrate leadership and commitment to a sustainable future.

     

    Award applicants are judged on the following criteria: Impact metrics, innovation/uniqueness of the initiative, sharing of insights and best practices, and investment of organizational leadership capital.

  • The SEAL Sustainable Service Award

  • The SEAL Sustainable Service Award recognizes innovative services that
    set a new standard for sustainability.

     

    Award applicants are judged on the following criteria: Impact metrics, innovation/uniqueness of the services, and its ability to inspire sustainable change.

     

    Any form of service – like hospitality or B2B commercial services – is eligible for consideration.

  • The SEAL Sustainable Innovation Award

  • The SEAL Sustainable Innovation Award recognizes innovations that represent game-changing ideas that bring us to a more sustainable future.

     

    Award applicants are judged on the innovation’s advantages over alternatives, sustainability benefits, disruption, and impact metrics, amongst other criteria.

  • The SEAL Award for Organizational Impact

  • The SEAL Award for Organizational Impact celebrates the 50 Most Sustainable Companies Globally.

     

    The 2023 selection process will again be conducted without an application process.

     

    The evaluations will be conducted 100% analytically using existing benchmarks (like the CDP A-List and Corporate Sustainability Assessment) – please refer to our Methodology section of the 2021 Busines Sustainability Award Announcement.
